The Briggs Corner Fire Station was opened to provide quicker service to the southeast quarter of the city (bordering Norton and Rehoboth). It is a two-bay station at the corner of Park and Steere streets and has an ambulance that has cut about 2.5 miles (and crucial minutes) off of runs that would have had to come from the Union Street fire headquarters downtown. In 2010, we added an ambulance to the station.
