A major initiative for this term will be the upgrade to the city’s water system. After the droughts that we have seen in the past few years, we will invest $1.7 million in a hookup to the Pawtucket water system that we can leverage in a water emergency. The money will include a pumping station and treatment plant. We will renovate the Luther Dam pump station, which supplies water to the Manchester Reservoir, for $2.5 million. We will also rplace the Blake’s Pond Dam in Mansfield for $720,000. All of these projects affect or benefit our water supply.
